Brightling - Country Garden
High up in the Sussex Countryside our clients had a big wedding coming up in the summer. They asked us to create a beautiful walk for the couple and their guests. It was through a difficult sloping bit of garden that had a wonderful view of the Weald. Long terraced steps down to an octagonal sitting area with bold borders either side were created together with a levelled lawn with uninterrupted views.
Nutley – Winnie the Pooh Garden
Two ponds with bridges, woodland walks, woodland planting together with a large more formal York stone terrace outside their beautiful kitchen. A new driveway was also installed with large lawns and semi mature trees planted. A garden to have fun in!
Staplecross – Terrace garden
Our clients had become disillusioned with living with a large, hard to manage garden of very steep slopes. The answer was a series of three terraces created with walls and steps in keeping with their brick house. A large level lawn at the bottom is surrounded by a wall with generously wide steps and deep mixed borders. Level two is a rose garden with exuberant David Austin roses with a central circular herb garden. The top level is now a formally laid out vegetable garden with step over fruit trees lining the paths.
Ashdown Forest – Formal Garden
Our clients asked us to create a formal enclosed garden to the front of their converted clock tower house. A loggia is to one side with York stone paved areas, box hedging and mixed borders with bold planting. A mature hornbeam hedge was planted to hide the new car park with a gate through and a long lavender walk. The effect is of seclusion, peace and order.
